Brian Lazarus

Brian is starting undergrad at Chapman in August of 2026, where he will be studying biochemistry and molecular biology. Brian started in the lab in June of 2025 as a rising high school senior. He has worked closely with the graduate student Dylan Smock. He has had projects focusing on both viral delivery and gene correction. Brian’s favorite lab activity is western blots, and his least favorite is ddPCR. Outside of the lab, some of Brian’s hobbies include rowing, wildlife viewing, documentary watching, visiting museums, numismatics, and randomly giving out facts about various things, especially the Thylacine or Tasmanian Tiger. His personal Latin motto is  “Si non est ventus, remige.”
